LED Recessed Lights
Why LED Lighting?
LEDs can save up to 90% of the energy you would typically use with incandescent lighting. LED lighting offers brilliant and vibrant colors. The whites are dynamic and come close to matching incandescent lighting. They come in your choice of warm white and cool white. Another advantage of LEDs is that they are virtually indestructible and are estimated to last between 25,000-50,000 hours, up to 50 times as long as the typical fragile incandescent bulb. A set of LED lights can be expected to outlive any incandescent light sets and requires virtually no maintenance or bulb-changing over a period of many years.
Check with Willow Glen Electric to learn if the latest state-of-the-art lighting technology would make sense for your application. Its higher initial cost is offset by a quick payback period, remarkable long life, and energy efficiency.
The following are some additional benefits and information regarding LED lighting:
- Extremely low power consumption–5-15 watt LEDs use a fraction of the power required by conventional 60-100 watt incandescent filament bulbs.
- Converts energy to light, not heat – they do not heat up!
- Extremely long life span potentially lasting 25,000-50,000 hours or more. Compact fluorescents are typically rated at about 10,000 hours, and incandescent light bulbs at 1,000 hours.
- Durable, insensitive to vibration.
- Super fast turn-on, unlike compact fluorescent. Ideal for applications subject to frequent on-off cycling.
- Lightweight and compact.
- Very environmentally friendly-no mercury or other toxics. Recyclable.
- LED lights do not attract insects (handy for outdoor usage).
Security & Motion Lights
Security motion lights make your home more convenient and safe. Instead of searching for the switch to turn on an exterior light, the light can be set to turn on when it senses motion in its area. This easy illumination makes walking around your yard easier at night and can reduce the chance a burglar will approach your home at night.
Motion detector switches can also be installed in places such as public bathrooms or home garages for convenience and energy-savings, as lights only draw electricity when they are in use.
Add to the beauty of your home and increase its’ security! Landscape lights help highlight your home’s architecture and landscaping and bring light into an otherwise dark environment. This makes your home safer and lowers its potential for criminal mischief.
We can illuminate darkened walkways, trees, decks, and more. Our control units can ensure your lights turn on at dusk and off at a predetermined time or sunrise.
Fluorescent lighting is typically found in residential kitchens, bathrooms, and garages and in commercial/industrial facilities.
High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps are typically used when high levels of light over large areas are required, and when energy efficiency or light intensity are desired. These areas include gymnasiums, large public areas, warehouses, movie theaters, football stadiums, outdoor activity areas, roadways, parking lots, and pathways. More recently, HID lamps have been used in small retail and even residential environments because of advances in lower wattage bulbs.
Property managers and owners of light commercial and industrial buildings: Willow Glen Electric has over two decades of experience with installing new HID fixtures and replacing HID ballasts and lamps. You should only allow licensed and trained electricians to replace your switches and dimmers. Unqualified individuals or handymen can harm your electrical system if they do not know the proper way to replace these devices.
